Hide your Files

A very simple way to hide some files on your computer or a usb-memory without any password programs is to create a large number of folders.

I start by creating ten folders named 0-9. In each folder I put another ten folders with the same names. I continue until i have atleast 4 levels. Then i can simply choose a four figure code (for example 3409. I go into folder 3, continue into folder 4, then folder 0 and last folder 9. There I put all my secret files.

A faster and more simple way of creating the folders is maybe to first create the folders 0-9. Then create a new folder and put those ten folders into that new folder. Then i rename the new folder to 0, copy-paste it until i have 10 folders. I rename them so that they are called 0-9. Then i make a new folder and repeat the process.

If you have four levels of 10 folder on each level there will be 10000 combinations. 10000 different codes, just like any four digit code. If you want more combinations you could always name the folders a-z instead. 4 levels with a-z gives 26⁴ = 456976 different combinations. A advantage of using letters is that you can use a word as your password and just spell it by clicking the right folders.

Please note that this way of hiding files can make it hard for noobs to find your files, BUT, there are several simple ways of finding your files. For example you can search for files or you can simply check the properties for the ten first folders and select the one that is largest, then check which folder of the new ten that is largest and so forth until you find the files. So it's absolutely not a very safe way but a simple way to make it a little more tricky to sneak around your stuff. To make it harder you should locate those folders inside a folder called _dlls or something like that and put it under some system folder where noone ever looks.

Why not just encrypt your files? It would be much easier and more full proof at the same time...

just mark your files as hidden. noobs won't change their explorer settings to show hidden files.

An interesting idea...However, it would be increasingly annoying when you can't remember which file is where, etc. Yet, for some reason, I feel like trying it.

nice ... u can use also the [ALT 255] + foldername .. or some other ways to make your folder not accessible .. u can any code digit ...be sure to remember dat code ..
